Governing conditions : Save any conditions which govern the contract by law, these conditions alone shall govern the contract. The contract is governed by the laws of Belgium and the parties hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Namur.
Prices : The present price list replaces all previous price lists. Prices shown on our price list apply to items made to customers’ patterns. Extra will be charged if the parts to be made are missing or if special tooling and/or a particular casting are needed. Carriage and insurance are extra.
VAT : VAT (at 21%) is charged to customers residing in Belgium. Customers residing outside Belgium and within the EU are exempt from VAT. Customers residing in countries outside the EU are subject to export taxes.
Estimates : Estimates given over the telephone are approximate. Estimates given for servicing and repair and for restoration are valid only for the work as detailed in writing between us and the owner of the object in question. If unforeseen work is needed the owner will be notified and given a further estimate. Any price increase for materials such as bells, cast brass, etc. incurred during the restoration period will be passed on to the customer. Estimates given for new clock movements are valid only for the work detailed in writing and agreed between us and the customer. Any modification to the initial drawings will be charged accordingly.
Payment : Payment for the supply of spare part and for servicing and repair work is upon receipt o invoice. A deposit of 50% of the total estimate is required for restoration work and for the commissioning of new movements. The remaining 50% is payable upon receipt of the invoice issued upon completion of the work.
Method of payment : Payment may be by cheque in Pounds Sterling or in Euros or by credit transfer.
Carriage and insurance : Carriage and insurance are charged to the customer.
Completion and delivery : Dates given for the completion and delivery of an order are approximate only and not binding.
Damage in transit or non-delivery : Customers must notify us in writing within 7 days of any damage or non-delivery. Claims outside this period cannot be accepted. Damaged items with their original packaging must be retained by the recipient.
Guarantee : All new clock movements are guaranteed against defective workmanship and materials for a period of three years from the date of invoice. Repairs and restoration work are guaranteed for a period varying from one to three years depending on the quality of the movement. To comply with the conditions of our guarantee all clocks requiring setting up must be installed by us. Please note that under the conditions of our guarantee we cannot accept any claims for broken mainsprings, the damage their breakage may cause to a movement or any other object or the personal injury they may cause by their breakage.
Installation and setting up : Unless otherwise agreed the installation and setting up of a clock is our responsibility. Our estimates include a fee to cover this aspect of our work. This fee is dependant on the nature of the work involved and on travelling distances. To comply with the condition of our guarantee clocks needing to be installed, i.e. longcase clocks, must be installed by ourselves.
Title of goods: Goods remain the property of Jones & Chambault until paid in full.
