his movement and dial was made by us for a client who wanted to be involved in some aspects of its design. He wanted a traditionally designed hand made clock and chose to incorporate particular pillar shapes and dial engraving details which had pleased him on his visits to clock museums.

We created the clock using traditional methods and modern high grade brass and steel. All pinions are hardened and tempered and the wheel crossings and lever work are entirely cut and finished by hand. Machines today are electrically driven but the majority of processes remain the same as in the past, labour intensive and highly skilled.

The collaboration between client and clockmaker can be very rewarding especially when the client is well informed in horological design as many are today.
