First pinion bracket clock

The first wheel and pinion is fitted between the great wheel and centre pinion. Its function is to extend the running duration of the clock. It is very rare however to find such gearing in a bracket clock. With the use of this gearing a week going clock can be made to run for one month with a 4-1 gear ratio. The picture shown above is that of a Tavern clock movement but the function of the gearing is exactly the same.

The price quoted is for making the steel arbor and brass pinion. It excludes making and mounting the first wheel attached to it.
