Jones & Chambalut

Bent and Jones month going regulator movement

This movement was designed by Arthur Jones of Jones and Chambault and developed for a client of Colin Bent of Albion Clocks. The specification was for a fully jewelled weight driven movement of a month duration employing maintaining power and fitted with an adjustable Graham deadbeat escapement.

End stops are fitted to all jewell holes to reduce friction and a unique mechanism and hand indicate the state of wind. The driving weight and line are enclosed in a housing built within the case to avoid any reaction between the pendulum and weight. The minute hand is counterbalanced. The movement and pendulum (which is temperaturecompensated) are supported by a massive cast iron bracket screwed to the back plate of the case. The traditional dial and case are in perfect harmony with the house interior for which they were designed. Time keeping has proved to be superb.
