Brussels, seaport... The sailing school

Harbour surroundings

The BRYC is ideally located within Brussels harbour which is a seaport, accessible 24 hrs a day to vessels up to 4.500 tons (pushed barges up to 9.000 tons)

The navigation classes and lessons are taught by voluntary teachers who have all applicable degrees and diplomas, who are passionate about yachting and who sail themselves of course.

Right in the heart of the outer Brusses harbour, the club has full use of port services and is accessible to sailboats through lifting bridges.

All bridges either lift or pivot, from the Schelde River, through the Hingene lock and up to Brussels. The harbour can also easily be reached through modern european highway network, since it is located nearby the Brussels outer ringroad.

The BRYC is a non profit association. The members are true boat lovers, whether seagoing or inland vessels. The average membership is approximately 500. While being a private club, it is nevertheless accessible to outside guests, pupils of the school or yachtmen calling in Brussels. The club house includes a bar and a restaurant, in the pure naval tradition. The club also offers a dinghy sailing school for the youngsters from 7 years up, as well as various dynamic and active sections meeting everyone's interest (sail, motorsailing, cruising, racing, etc.).
